Wish Lists

With the holidays quickly approaching, we all have wish lists, right? The top of mine? Lose 10 lbs, win the lottery, world peace….you get the idea. Unfortunately, I know my family and friends won’t be able to help me cross those things off my list. However, we may be able to help you with your lists!
We have an awesome selection of products and services that would be ideal for people to give to you this holiday season. A gift card, some anti-aging serum, a massage, a facial, microblading…the list goes on. While you won’t find the key to world peace at our Studio, you may just find a little piece of happiness and a treatment or product to help you feel better.
Each of our estheticians are able to sit down and come up with a treatment plan and skin care regimen that is right for your skin. Then you can add those products, treatments or gift cards to your list this year!
Call us today to get a treatment plan going and also, please call if you have found that winning lottery ticket that I must have misplaced…

Multi-tasking Massages

This day in age we are all required to multi-task. Always.

It goes beyond walking while chewing gum.  In today’s world, we see people making smart choices with multi-tasking (think folding laundry while catching up on the next episode of your favorite show or doing Kegels while waiting in traffic).  These smart multi-tasking ventures can help improve your life or at least make the To-Do list shorter. But we also see people making really bad choices when multi-tasking…texting while driving, smoking while pumping gas, or checking your emails while having dinner with a friend. Some have some severe consequences. (PSA: You shouldn’t text and Drive, Smoke and Pump Gas, and you definitely should pay attention to those around you, instead of your phone)

I like to multi-task while getting a massage.  Yes, you read that correctly. Hear me out.

While doing something I enjoy (receiving a massage on a regular basis), I am helping so many areas of my life (therefore, multitasking!) Here are the things one can accomplish with a regular massage.  (“Regular” being every 4-6 weeks.)

  • Massage can counteract the stress to your posture caused from sitting to long. This is usually pain felt in the lower back or shoulders, but can also present itself in the form of weak core or back muscles. Desk jockeys – we are talking to you.
  • It can ease muscle pain. This seems obvious but think about if you bump your knee – you rub it to make it feel better.  Let a trained massage therapist do the work for you.
  • Regular massage therapy can reduce overall stress, anxiety and depression. This is due to the human contact in a safe and professional environment along with the action of taking time to relax.
  • It promotes better sleep. You can rest more comfortably, simply put.  It can also work wonders for patients going through chemo or radiation.
  • Massage has been found to increase white blood cell counts, which are responsible for helping defend your immune system. This can be beneficial all year round.
  • Have a headache? Yep, massage therapy can help with that as well.  Seeing your massage therapist on a regular basis can help reduce the tension that leads to certain headaches.
  • It also works my body in ways that I can’t do while doing other non-exercise activities: lowers blood pressure, improve cardiovascular health, increase range of motion, improve balance, decrease pain associated with arthritis and many other health issues.

So, if you are the type of person who needs a “To-Do” action for your life, here it is…

√    Call to schedule a massage every 4-6 weeks.

Set them up in advance so the rest of life can’t get in the way. Find a therapist that will be yours only. They will learn to know what your body needs and how to heal you.  They will help you multi-task your health in a way you could never imagine. You are welcome.

Speaking Beauty

The Dictionary you REALLY need…

I always feel more at home when I understand the terms being used around me. I mean I went in to the eye doctor last week and they were talking about a dry caruncle?!?!  A what?!?!  (I learned from Google it is actually the pink triangle part of the inner corner eye, but who really uses this word when talking to someone who is not “in the business”?)

So, back to my point: it is important to understand the terms of what you are getting into at a studio like ours. We have no problem offering an explanation, it’s just that many of you feel embarrassed to ask.  So, wait no more…here is my dictionary of commonly used and maybe misunderstood terms:

MICROBLADING – This is a form of permanent makeup that provides a natural looking means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair.  It can be used to thicken and reshape brows with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments. Sound confusing?  Not sure how it will look afterwards?  These pictures are worth a thousand words…

MICRONEEDLING –It is a minimally invasive skin treatment that requires little to no down time. The device contains nine fine needles or a single fine needle that punctures the skin to create a controlled skin injury. This triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing collagen and elastin. Helps improve skin texture and firmness on the face and neck, and results in reduction of scars, stretch marks, and pore size. Bottom line: helps produce collagen…

OIL INFUSED LASH LIFT AND TINT– This is a great alternative to eyelash extensions or for clients with sensitivities. It is a low maintenance lash solution for clients as results lasts up to 12 weeks. Using your own lashes, it is permed against a silicon pad to give it a natural looking “lift“. We offer a tint with our lash lift also that help with our lighter eyelashes or to give it an illusion of mascara. Here are pictures of this amazing-ness…Note: these are YOUR natural lashes!!

LASH OR BROW TINT – Think vacation…or any other day that you don’t want to spend time on your lashes or brows. It can spare you the need for mascara or eyebrow pencil. Tinting lasts about 3-4 weeks, depending upon sun exposure and post care.  As you may have realized, if you have an undesirable and unforgiving brow shape…Microblading is the way to go.  With your natural lashes, the lash lift and tint are a great combo!

DERMAPLANING – This process, included in every facial (!) removes the vellus hair.  Don’t worry, it will not grow back coarse.  What it will do, however, is allow your products to reach your skin as they should and your make-up go on smoothly. Once you get this done, you will be hooked for life!

Hope you now have the confidence to speak beauty!
